The origin of the Metaverse
The “Metaverse” was first used in 1992 in the novel, “Avalanche”, by Neal Stephenson. It describes a digital virtual world or matrix that merges an electronic world with the physical, ideally offering endless possibilities for adventure, exploration, and collaboration. As the term gears for the 21st century, innovation in virtual reality and augmented reality schemes have brought more interest in the dimensions of the Metaverse, essentially creating a realm of otherworldly and cyberspace that co-exists with the people in the present. As the metaverse expands, it will offer a surreal dimensional virtual world to orbit people as they conduct their digital life.
